TO-94-1: Scenic Byway Maps

WHEREAS Colorado’s Scenic Byway Program has celebrated its 30^th anniversary; and

WHEREAS Western Colorado is home to many officially designated national scenic byways; and

WHEREAS the scenic byways maps can also be downloaded through several online and phone apps; and

WHEREAS Club 20 supports federal funding for the Scenic Byway Program; and

WHEREAS the federal transportation legislation specifically authorized federal funding for promotion of national scenic byways; and

WHEREAS state maps noting these byways are given out at all state and most community visitor centers;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Club 20 continues to encourage the Colorado Tourism Office and the Colorado Department of Transportation to pursue the use of federal transportation funds for publication of the state highway maps, as such maps strongly highlight the national scenic byways and our part of the state.
