PLNR-96-3-Compensation For Game Damage

WHEREAS Western Colorado landowners provide a significant amount of habitat for our state’s wildlife species, and

 

WHEREAS landowners incur a disproportionate burden of providing crucial winter wildlife habitat, and

 

WHEREAS population growth of both humans and predators will continue to concentrate prey species, in particular deer, elk, and moose on private property, and

 

WHEREAS Western Colorado landowners are significantly impacted by the presence of wildlife on private property (e.g. damage to fences, loss of forage, increased depredation and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife program for reimbursing that loss is inadequate,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Club 20 supports fair, adequate, and timely compensation to private property, which includes land and/or livestock owners whose property is damaged by wildlife while protecting their confidentiality.   Adopted 3/1/1996
