WHEREAS ballot initiatives are voted on by the general public who are not familiar with agriculture operations or the necessary day-to-day agriculture activities and animal husbandry practices; and WHEREAS ballot initiatives often utilize emotional appeals without scientific justification or an understanding of animal husbandry practices necessary for the care of animals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Club 20 continues to oppose the use of ballot initiatives to restrict agriculture, animal husbandry practices, and/or economic activities related to farming and ranching.
