WHEREAS sustaining the agricultural economy of the West depends upon the ability of families to pass along the farm from one generation to the next; and WHEREAS state inheritance and federal estate taxes make passing farms to the next generation very difficult, and often impossible; and WHEREAS there is a strong public interest in facilitating such inheritance, so long as the farm remains in agriculture; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 supports permanent elimination of agriculture estate taxes.
