WHEREAS American agriculture producers are the most efficient producers in the world; and WHEREAS international trade agreements can benefit American agriculture producers, and more specifically Colorado producers, only if those agreements are fair and the competitive playing field is level; and WHEREAS it is the responsibility of the Governor and his Commissioner of Agriculture to review how current or proposed international trade agreements will potentially benefit or harm Colorado agriculture producers; THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 urges the Governor and the Commissioner of Agriculture to be actively involved in promoting and defending Colorado’s agriculture interests in international trade negotiations and engage Colorado’s agriculture organizations in developing a strategy to this end.
