it's Annual Spring Meetings April 4-5 at Two Rivers
Convention Center in Grand Junction.
The two day event began with
Board of Directors meetings, election of new CLUB 20
leadership and approval on new resolutions on Friday. New
CLUB 20 leadership is as follows:

Awards Banquet the following are recipients of this years

JOHNNY
VANDERHOOF AWARD-Johnny Vanderhoof has been a long-time
advocate of
Western Colorado
interests and served as Governor of Colorado in 1973-75.

WALKER AWARD-The “Father of CLUB 20”, Preston Walker
provided much of the motivation for starting the
organization while he was publisher of the Grand Junction
Daily Sentinel.

award is given for public service to
Western Colorado
as an elected official. Dan Noble’s long and
noteworthy career included 17 years as a state legislator
and service to Club 20 in the 1980s, including a turn as
Chairman of the Board of Director.

BUILDER AWARD-This
award is given to individuals who have demonstrated a
commitment to forging working relationships with diverse
interests to achieve common goals. Nick Theos, a
long-time sheep rancher from Meeker, and Eric Johnson, a
professional sculptor from Redstone, both served in
leadership roles within CLUB 20:

Rio
Blanco
County
and Eric a former Chairman of the Board.
Although the two men heralded from very different
backgrounds and championed different perspectives, they
forged a friendship and working relationship that has been
an example of how diverse interests can come together to
achieve common goals.

The
first speaker of the Saturday morning program was US
Congressman Mark Udall. Saturday morning's CLUB 20 program
featured discussion and presentations on affordable
workforce housing. Presentation from Saturday morning can be

Saturday's
keynote speaker was U S Senator Wayne Allard. The afternoon
session focused on Colorado's Transportation Funding crisis
and Regulations regarding the Oil & Gas Industry. As
well as, presentations from Senator Ken Salazar and Governor
Bill Ritter.
